Stewart F1 golf trolley with newly re-celled battery
The pinnacle of golfing technology in it's day the remarkable F1 Golf Trolley. Crafted for the premium end of a premium market the F1 masterpiece from Stewart Golf was ground-breaking and exclusive. It was targeted at those with high-end sports cars where luggage space was a real issue but possibly image was even more important! Porsche 911; Audi R8, Aston Martin and even the Lamborghini Murcielago featured in their marketing strategy. Have a watch of the videos, they are still on Youtube. Stewart Golf claimed F1 stood for the project name -'Folding One'. Personally, I doubt that was true, more likely a deliberate effort to align the aura and performance of this trolley with the F1 world. The original featured'Magnesium Alloy wheels' and the design was very'sporty'.

Possibly they ran into some IP issues with the name.. F1's Evolution - The F1 and its marketing saw changes over time. Stewart Golf claimed it was because sales were better than expected and they recovered costs quicker. Highest probability - marketing got the projections wrong and they had to reposition the F1 in the market. Battery uprated to 7.65Ah; Magnesium alloys replaced by the plastic V3 wheel sets; Some efforts to reduce condensation problems within the electronics.

Motor supplier change - now Parvalux. No new Bags, batteries, handsets, magnesium wheels of electronics available.

Good parts rare; pristine parts extremely rare. To the lay observer this chronology suggests that despite producing a truly fabulous offering for its day, Stewart Golf failed to realise its aim of creating and cultivating a premium, premium market.

Despite claims of great sales, the fact they slashed the price of the F1 in 2012 suggests price point (and profit) aspirations had to be revisited. The 2016 launch of the'S' was the final attempt to establish the F1 as a profitable model for the company.

Likely some serious cost engineering went on to reduce cost of manufacture. De-listing the trolley in 2017 would surely only have been a necessary business decision. The conclusion mist be that the F1 was a business failure. Stewart Golf pressed on with the X series evolution. They had introduced another segment-leading technical innovation - the X9 follow - in 2014.

It was said by Stewart at the time of ending the F1 that one of the reasons was that the Follow technology wouldn't fit into the F1's chassis. There might be some truth in that but also, the F1 was so unique it is probably more the case that the Company just had to focus on common and lower-cost components. ITEM FOR SALE - BLACK F1 with bag.

2016 (S spec) model in truly superb condition. As an'S' spec, it has the Parvalux motors and V3 wheels. Black bag in beautiful condition with all pockets and zips working. Black cover panel is original and has no cracks or repairs (there are some scratches on the arches but that is always the case because the trolley in folded state is prone to toppling over onto its back). Trolley carry bag included to keep your car clean.

Chassis and electronics both in first-class condition. Even the dowel pins and the springs on the rear stabiliser are free from corrosion. Condition: Superb and rare to find one this good. Bag: Immaculate, original carry strap for the bag included. Mechanics: Parvalux 36v motors in pristine condition.

Electronics: Enhanced PCB coating for longevity, fully operational. Remote: All functions operational, tactile buttons functioning as they should.

18650 cells are of course brand new and only from Samsung or LG. Original wiring and BMS configuration has been maintained for your safety in conjunction with original chargers (produced by Mascot, Norway) in excellent condition.

Stunning and rare, great F1 trollies can already be considered collector's items. Its revolutionary design, albeit not flawless, remains a testament to Stewart Golf's vision as well as design and engineering skills. This package is complete and first-class. For the discerning enthusiast who recognises golfing excellence.

For those lucky enough to own the sports cars the F1 was targeted, this is a perfect example to go retro and pair this fabulous design with your motor. Not really for'weekly' use as a general trolley, this is too good and too rare. I have other F1s and X-series I could supply for that role.

More images are at your disposal upon request. Different coloured covers available but would have to be painted.

I have a selection of bags in different colours but none as pristine as this one. Always looking for great, original bags.
